Renowned Southern interior designer, Lucy Williams, is recognized for the bright, welcoming spaces she creates. For the dining room above, which is her own home, Williams says, "We live on the water which inspired the color scheme for my house. Since we have a wall of windows, I wanted to bring the outdoors in. The Tritter Feefer pieces really capture the casual but elegant look that I was after."

Our classic Baluster dining table in St Moritz finish is the centerpiece of this space.

"I've kept the walls neutral using grays, tans, whites and off-whites. I selected painted furniture, raw woods and grasscloths to keep it light and casual," Williams says.

The artist-turned designer comments that her interiors are heavily influenced by the art she selects and very often creates. "I always let the art dictate the color scheme of the space. I have a habit of choosing neutral fabrics for big upholstered pieces because I don't want anything to compete with the art, especially if its the focal point of the room. I'm all for maximizing the potential of the decor around a great painting!"

Our Gussie demilune is a perfect fit along the angled wall in this seating arrangement.

For this client's home, which will be featured in the 2017 Virginia Garden Tour, Williams skillfully blended newer pieces with antiques and traditional architectural elements.

"Because I use mostly new furnishings, Tritter Feefer's finishes and styles don't scream 'new' - very important to me."

On working with Tritter Feefer, Williams says, "I love Tritter Feefer! It's an easy sell to my clients not only because of their updated traditional and transitional styles, but also Tritter Feefer caters to the perfect look for my coastal living aesthetic. Most importantly, Tritter Feefer's quality is top notch. You get what you pay for and I highly value knowing I am providing the best to my clients."

Williams chose our Helga buffet to step in as an elegant media console that also provides valuable storage in this family room.

BEACH DOWNSIZE

I FIRST STARTED WORKING WITH THIS CLIENT 11 YEARS AGO WHEN SHE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING A BEAUTIFUL NEW ENGLAND STYLE WATERFRONT CEDAR SHAKE HOUSE...LAST YEAR, SHE DECIDED TO DOWNSIZE AND CHANGE UP THE LOOK A LITTLE. SO WE PURCHASED, RECYCLED, AND REVAMPED!!! AND MY CLIENT IS AN EXCELLENT SHOPPER AND FOUND SOME TRUE GEMS TO HELP FURNISH THIS AMAZING NEW PLACE.....COME TAKE A LOOK!

WE ADDED OVER SCALED LAMPS IN A RUSTIC FINISH TO COMPLIMENT THE PAINTING AS WELL AS A DISTREDDED CHANDELIER..... CASUAL LINEN SHEER PANELS FRAME OUT THE PICTURE WINDOW.

MY CLEINT SLIPCOVERED HER SOFAS IN A NEUTRAL LINEN AND WE ADDED OVERSCALED PILLOWS...INVITING!

THIS PRINTED GRASSCLOTH ENDED UP BEING THE PERFECT COMPLIMENT FOR MY CLIENT'S ANTIQUE MIRROR. THE SCONCES PROVIDE A CONTEMPORARY EDGE FOR CONTRAST.

THE DRUM SHADE MAKES THIS KITCHEN NOOK SUPER COZY WITH THE LEATHER WOVEN CLUB CHAIRS WE RECYCLED FROM THE LAST HOUSE. WE ADDED A METAL AND WOOD TABLE TO UNITED THE SEATING.

GREAT OUTDOOR ENTERTAINMENT SPACES

A LANDSCAPE DESIGNER ONCE TOLD ME TO CONCEPTUALIZE YOUR YARD AS YOU WOULD A HOUSE....CREATE "ROOMS" IN YOUR YARD...I NEVER THOUGHT OF IT THIS WAY AND I LOVED THIS CONCEPT! IT MADE ME THINK THE YARD IS EVERY BIT AS IMPORTANT AS THE HOUSE...ITS AN EXTENSION OF THE INSIDE SO TREAT IT THAT WAY.  HERE ARE SOME GREAT "OUTDOOR ROOMS"!!!

LIVING SMALL!

AS THE YOUNGEST OF THREE GIRLS, I TYPICALLY GOT THE SHAFT....I HAD TO SLEEP ON THE FLOOR IN HOTEL ROOMS, SIT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BACK SEAT, HAD THE SMALLEST ROOM (AND IT WAS TINY!) ETC ETC ETC.... BUT THIS WAS NOT A BAD THING! IT TAUGHT ME TO MAXIMIZE EVERY SQUARE INCH OF A ROOM...AND IT ALSO TAUGHT ME TO LOVE SMALL SPACES... THEY WERE COZY, EASY TO CLEAN, AND ADORABLE! TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF THESE SMALL SPACES THAT I LOVE!!! ( PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE PHOTOS FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT HOUSES)
